Originally intended as the hall for a magnificent cathedral-sized church that was never built, the building has since become a treasured part of Whanganui’s cultural and spiritual landscape.

Today, Christ Church hosts regular Anglican gatherings while also hosting musicians, artists and community organisations for concerts and special events.
