Good planting design can do that - bringing colour and vibrancy year-round, mitigating climate chaos, and easing the aftercare burden on councils and contractors.

This talk, by Sam Moore traces the history of public gardens, explores examples from around the world (the good and the bad), and confronts the challenges of making change happen.

Not without provocation, it's intended to inspire landscape designers, architects and the general public to reconsider how even the smallest scrap of land can benefit all the flora and fauna - including the human animal - that encounter it.
