Whanganui Fun Palaces: Laboratory of Fun
Immerse yourself in interactive play!
Help us build the Monument to Fun Palace the way you want it – you’re building out the walls! Listen to Small Talks, watch a secret play, play in the box wars, parade, make a mess, make some weird noise with Neil and Rosie with their extraordinary instruments, make a song without words with Whetu, and more… paint, upcycle, fabricate, smoosh, squish, think, play and create. Whoever you are, young, old or in-between, the Fun Palace is a space for everyone to embrace their creativity and culture whatever that looks like.
Fun Palaces is an ongoing campaign, supporting the democratisation of Arts and Culture. Celebrating the positivity of sharing people’s passions with their own community. Fun Palaces bring together cultural skills of those in local communities for others to learn and enjoy, they’ve included artists, scientists, theatre-makers, knitters, astronomers, costumiers, brewers, composers, sculptors, engineers, gardeners, singers, conservationists, swimmers, geologists and more.
