Many Manawatū locals will have memories of this much-loved heritage building, which is the subject of the inaugural Fair Trust Art Prize recipient, Emily Hartley-Skudder’s exhibition CAMEO at Te Manawa.
Curator Sian van Dyk will lead a Q&A with Hartley-Skudder (Wellington), historian Dr Caroline Daley (Auckland), and local architect Darren Shadbolt, along with artist and business owner Catherine Russ, in a lively conversation about gendered history, cleanliness and control, and the taonga that is Ladies’ Rest.
